Aubrey Faith-Slaker is an accomplished pianist, dedicated music educator, and chamber music performer based in the Chicagoland area, with occasional operations in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Pianist

Aubrey's musical journey began at the age of four when she embarked on her Suzuki piano studies at the Music Institute of Chicago. She holds two Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in piano performance and piano pedagogy. Aubrey furthered her studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, earning a Master of Music degree in Performance and Pedagogy (studying on the unusual 7/8 sized keyboard). Known for her versatile repertoire, Aubrey is an active performer of solo and chamber music, with a particular affinity for the works of Beethoven, Debussy, and female composers.

Teacher Trainer

With over two decades of experience, Aubrey is an MTNA-certified music educator and a Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer. She is deeply passionate about mentoring new teachers in piano pedagogy practices, guiding individuals pursuing further education, and assisting those embarking on their own teaching endeavors. Aubrey's intuitive teaching approach extends to masterclass settings, where she shares her expertise and nurtures the development of aspiring educators.

Teacher

Aubrey maintains a thriving piano studio, offering instruction in piano, music history, music theory, and piano pedagogy to students of all ages. Her teaching journey has taken her from Texas to Wyoming, Colorado, Oaxaca, and presently, Chicago. Aubrey teaches both in-person and online, providing lessons in English and Spanish. In addition to her private studio, she also imparts her knowledge and passion for music as a faculty member at the Music Institute of Chicago.
